Eastern Caribbean

Antigua lies in the center of the Lesser Antilles archipelago and is therefore known as the "heart of the Caribbean.”  Situated at latitude 17 degrees North and longitude  61 degrees West,  it lies 450 miles NE of South America.

St. Kitts and Nevis lie to the West, St. Martin/St. Maarten to the North and Guadeloupe to the South.  Its sister island, Barbuda, is 27 miles off the NE coast and can be accessed by ferry.   Monserrat, with its frequently active volcano, can be seen 25 miles across the water from Blue Moon’s decks.

The Eastern coast of Antigua is subject to the larger seas of the Atlantic Ocean but most of the other coastline is bathed by the more tranquil and stunningly beautiful turquoise water of the Caribbean Sea.
